MTSS: Relationship With Other Programs

In this course, leaders learn how MTSS provides a comprehensive framework to house additional instructional platforms including tutoring and special education services. In addition, key strategies for fostering open communication with parents and caregivers are addressed.

Throughout the course, leaders have opportunities to reflect on and outline their own campus’s/district’s MTSS framework in each of these areas:

  • MTSS and tutoring
  • MTSS and special education
  • MTSS and parent/caregiver communication

This course is approved for 2 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours. Assessments of learner achievement of the objectives will include reflection/application activities, knowledge checks, and wrap-up questions. You will complete one lesson module at a time.

Coaching Support Included

This training includes a coaching component delivered by experts at each regional education service center to help educators apply what they’ve learned with confidence and fidelity. Coaching provides personalized, job‑embedded support grounded in four research‑based practices proven to strengthen instruction: alliance-building, observation, modeling, and performance feedback.

Educators and coaches complete a three‑step coaching cycle—pre‑observation, observation, and performance feedback—to reinforce training content and improve implementation. Coaching is designed to fit flexibly into your existing schedule and enhance your work, not add to it.
