This training was developed as a result of a statewide stakeholder meeting of parents of children who have Down syndrome. At the meeting, parents identified priorities for the education of their children. Training topics include inclusion supports, strategies for teaching academic and functional skills, and promoting pro-social behaviors.
By completing the modules in this course, participants will:
- Summarize common characteristics and how they impact learning
- Review Least Restrictive Environment
- Identify strategies for teaching academics
- Identify strategies for teaching functional skills
- Identify strategies to support behavioral skills
