SPEDTex

The SPEDTex website provides information and resources that can help families understand their child’s disability, their rights and responsibilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and facilitate collaboration that supports the development and delivery of services to children with disabilities in our state.

School systems must post the SPEDTex logo, hyperlink, description, and contact information on their public-facing websites. Additional information about these required postings is available on the SPEDTex webpage, SPEDTex Posting Requirement for LEAs.

SPEDTex Posting Requirements for LEAs:

This page provides the information, resources, and required content school systems need to add SPEDTex information to their public-facing websites in accordance with state requirements.

School systems, also known as local education agencies (LEAs), are required to make all required postings accessible through their public-facing websites. In addition, LEAs must update all websites, materials, static resources, and other information provided to parents and staff to include the SPEDTex logo, hyperlink, program description, and contact information. Visit the Texas Education Agency's Special Education Required Postings to LEA Websites for additional information.

Information to be posted:

The Special Education Information Center (SPEDTex) provides resources and interactive features for increasing family awareness of disabilities and special education processes, with the goal of improving partnerships between schools and families.
